Congratulations to Torphichen Parish Church, which is the 8th church to gain a Second Eco-Congregation Award
Torphichen Parish Church is taking action on a wide range of sustainability issues, including waste, biodiversity and energy use and working with the local community. Their projects show creativity and inventiveness, such as the writing of prayers and hymns, the manufacture and selling of recycled jewellery and other art projects. They work in close partnership with a church in Magina, Kenya.
In working towards their second award they have promoted the programme to other churches through their support of the West Lothian and Falkirk network of Eco-Congregation churches. They have also been involved in outreach to churches in other parts of the country, beyond their local area.
