Award

Knightsridge Local Ecumenical Parish

30 June 2008
Congratulations to Knightsridge Local Ecumenical Parish, which is the 9th church to achieve a Second Eco-Congregation Award

This small conregation has achieved much in their Eco-Congregation work. Their major Breathing Spaces Project has created beautiful gardens created from waste ground fenced off around the Community Centre in which they meet. There are three areas of the garden with different themes: Love, Joy and Peace. See www.life-pages.com/knightsridgebreathingspace.html

They have used an imaginative approach to a restore this previously neglected area, successful fundraised and made creative use of local facilities with wide community involvement. The project has drawn together members of both of Knightsridge and the other churches in Livingston Ecumenical Parish

The church has also supported the development West Lothian network of Eco-Congregation churches and helped organise stalls at the West Lothian Environment Fair
