Jamestown Parish Church
Jamestown Parish Church has undertaken projects in a number of different areas. There work and worship reflects the idea that thinking of others means recognising the importance of sharing limited resources means and that individual action to conserve and protect are part of the Christian life.
The church has new boiler which hasreduced fuel consumption and they take care to use energy wisely. In spite of problems of vandalism, the church garden has been improved with the help of Jamestown School in planting tubs and the Sunday school has also planted bulbs.They promote resuse through an Annual Nearly New Sale and recycling of items such as Christmas Cards, mobile phones. paper, spectacles and stamps. The church also collects and sends books to troops in Afghanistan.
With Action of Churches together in Vale of Leven the church has seen the Al Gore film, "An Inconvenient Truth". They support Fairtrade stall and actively campaign for Christian Aid Recycling- paper, spectacles, stamps. The church collects and sends books to troops in Afghanistan.
